Our mission is to empower young filmmakers throughout the Tuscaloosa community and across the nation, giving them a platform to showcase their passion projects. Through programming, outreach, fundraising, and year round events, we strive to encourage student voices to make an impact.
THE MAKING OF RISING TIDE FILM FESTIVAL
"The Rising Tide Film Festival showcases the creative talents of students from across the United States and features the creative minds of the University of Alabama. Discover the next generation of storytellers and immerse yourself in our diverse collection of captivating short films. We formerly were known as the Black Warrior Film Festival but updated our name to revitalize our image, attract new audiences, and present a fresh identity. As our festival has evolved, it was only fitting for our name to change as well!"
